University groups go through an annual cycle of renewal with the arrival of new PhD students. In that sense, it's spring-time in Cambridge now. A couple of days ago we had our traditional welcome curry, well attended by current, past, and new students. We welcome, Urvi, Amber, Meghan, Edward, Oliver, and Shitao, supervised by Suchitra, Sian, Montu and Malte.
Cambridge and the Cavendish lab offer enormous opportunities and challenges. To overcome the challenges and make the most of the opportunities, you need to work together. All of QM wish you an exciting and productive time ahead!
The curry was also an opportunity to celebrate Tony's viva. Tony (Zheyu) Wu was appropriately interrogated (grilled) by external Paul Goddard and internal Chiara Ciccarelli. A big thank you to both examiners and congratulations to Tony, who is going on to great things at NHMFL Tallahassee!
