Stephen Hodgson passed his PhD viva with minor corrections last week and was celebrated by a group outing on Friday - congratulations! We thank his examiners - external, Prof. Stefan Süllow (Brunswick/Germany) and Dr. Michael Sutherland (QM, Cavendish). Stephen brought high pressure heat capacity techniques to our group and used them to investigate the new superconductor CeSb2. It looks like he is going to progress to a career in finance, but the techniques he developed live on and prosper with Theo, who has already nearly concluded a high pressure heat capacity study on another new superconductor.
